GreenLife Bamboo asks every customer to confirm the order before the carton is sealed

GreenLife Bamboo has put a confirmation gate between payment and packing. Every order sends the buyer a link showing the exact size, quantity and delivery address on the label; nothing is packed until it is confirmed or corrected. The aim is to catch wrong-size and unreachable-address orders while they still cost nothing to fix.

Why a paid order still fails

Two failures dominate small-parcel dispatch in India, and neither is the courier's fault. The first is a size mistake: sticks are ordered by millimetre, and a buyer who wanted 4 mm and clicked 3 mm only discovers it on unboxing. The second is an address that a delivery rider cannot resolve — no landmark, no floor, a phone that goes unanswered. Both end the same way, as a parcel travelling twice and a refund conversation.

How the gate works

After payment, the buyer gets a link to a plain page: item, diameter, length, pack count, quantity, and the address exactly as it will print on the label. They confirm, or they edit and then confirm. Reminders follow on a fixed schedule rather than at a human's discretion. An order that is never confirmed does not get quietly shipped and hoped for — it is held and followed up, because a held order costs storage while a failed one costs freight twice plus the refund.

The trade-off being accepted

The step adds hours to dispatch, and some customers will find being asked twice a nuisance. The company's position is that a delivery which fails is a worse experience than a message which asks. First-time buyers and addresses the system scores as hard to find get the closest attention; repeat customers shipping to an address that has already delivered successfully pass through with a single notice.

“A parcel that comes back has already spent our margin twice over and cost the customer a week. Asking one question before we seal the carton is the cheapest thing in the entire chain.”
