GreenLife Bamboo stocks 129 stick sizes so buyers stop switching one SKU at a time
GreenLife Bamboo now stocks 129 stick sizes, closing the gaps that force a kitchen to run bamboo on most lines and plastic on one. The company says incomplete size ladders, rather than cost, are the most common reason a switch stalls halfway.
The problem this is meant to solve
A caterer who moves to bamboo skewers usually moves most of the menu, then finds one item stranded: the paneer tikka that needs 300 mm, the ice-cream line whose inserter was built around a specific flat stick. That single gap keeps a plastic purchase order alive, and with it the supplier relationship behind it. Buyers describe it as being 90% switched for two years running.
What the range now covers
Round skewers run 2.5 to 6.0 mm across lengths from 150 to 450 mm. Flat kulfi and ice-cream sticks run 93 to 150 mm. Coffee stirrers come in 90, 110, 120 and 140 mm; chopsticks in 180 to 240 mm; and bamboo-stick ear buds complete the household side. Inner packs step down as diameter goes up — 200 pieces to 3.5 mm, 100 at 4.0 and 5.0 mm, 50 at 6.0 mm — which keeps the outer carton one constant footprint, so a warehouse can plan racking once and buy any size into it.
Why a manufacturer can hold this many sizes
Holding 129 live sizes is a scheduling problem before it is a machining one. The line is set up so a size change is a tooling swap on an existing pass rather than a new process, and slow-moving sizes are batched against the fast ones that share a culm diameter. That is what makes an odd length economic to keep on the shelf instead of quoting it as a special order with a four-week lead time.
